My beautiful friend and fellow writer Mary Kate invited me to sit in on her "Storytelling for the Screen" zoom class yesterday. It was another gift from God, right on time. Do my main characters get what they want? Do they get what they need? I've been tirelessly writing the "Down the Rabbit Hole" screenplay, but needed to examine those questions in order to better shape the story. No, Kate doesn't get what she wants, but she does get what she needs. Yes, Denise gets what she wants, but no she doesn't get what she needs. Kate rises as Denise falls.
