SELF-promotion

I'm in the tedious (but fun) phase of self-promoting Ironing Out My Life and I've run into a problem: Amazon won't help. I've been reaching out to non-profits (Lost Sparrows, HAVOCA) with a pretty sweet deal: offer my book for sale on your website and I'll split the profits with you 50/50. Shouldn't be too hard, right? I'm no I.T. whiz, but seems to me you just add a tracking code unique to each website and KDP can easily keep track of how many sales come from each. After all, Amazon wants to sell this book too, right? Well, guess what? KDP won't do it. They "don't have the option to track sales." (Notice they didn't say "ability." They said "option.") In other words, I have to do it. How? Hopefully I can work with each web manager and figure out how to track each tracking code. But it'll be a lot of work for us. It'd be NO work for KDP, and since they're getting 40% of the profits they should do it. I've been emailing back and forth with KDP, but I think it's time to get someone on the phone. Perhaps I can implement this necessary change. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. (I'll letcha know what happens).
