It has dawned on me recently that my speaking voice is younger than I am, and perhaps that needs addressing. I have been told over the years that I have a nice bright, clear speaking voice, but I think I am aging out of it, and that may be affecting my cast-ability. I am planning to work with a vocal coach to access my lower register more easily. A reviewer on Audible.com said I sounded too valley girl/Kardashian-like to be narrating such a dark story. I'm grateful for this information because I didn't necessarily hear that. Sometimes we're too close to ourselves to be able to see (or hear) ourselves clearly. So, I thank that woman for her honesty. I will be using it.
