I Love Auditioning

I hear a lot of actors say they hate auditions. I love 'em.

The thrill of getting the SMS text, reading the breakdown and determining what strengths I can bring to the copy, dissecting the script, memorizing dialogue, playing with different choices, preparing it different ways, gathering props, dressing up in costume, doing my hair and makeup, meeting new casting directors and session runners, taking their redirection.

I prepare thoroughly, as if I already have the job and am going to set.

I love all of it, and am grateful for every opportunity.
