Clearer in hindsight

I've written down everything I've done every day since I was fourteen. I have Day Planners and, at the end of the day, I log what I did that day. Going back and consulting these life logs, although tedious, has been most helpful in my writing. I can more accurately see patterns, causes and results. Especially if I'm rereading a journal from many years ago. I began this practice because I have OCD, and as a way to stave off Alzheimers. But it has been most helpful in my recovery journey. I can't see things clearly as they're happening. The truth comes into focus with time and distance.
